Modern Art Quilters Exhibition 2019

Fun and games this week getting our latest exhibition hung at THE RAVENOUS CAFE. Why did we pick the hottest week of the year to climb ladders, bang in nails, vacuum ledges and hang quilts? Very pleased with the results though, as are Jo and Dill from the Cafe (once we had managed to get the central quilts high enough up so they didn't catch Dill in the eye while he was trying to wait tables! Sorry Dill!)

Here are a couple of images to whet your appetite.

To see the full, unexpurgated version visit during Cafe hours before 29th September

Excellent coffee, I can thoroughly recommend the cake, and Jo's sausage rolls are to die for!

Off to the annual Festival of Quilts next week, hoping to see the best of British quilting - will be sharing some nice pictures with you then

Blue Sunday...

...with indigo, of course. Sun was out, buckets prepared, lots of cloth to dye for packs and packets and for using...

Christmas Dinners In July

Now, you may know that we have been supporting a nice charitable cause, Quilts For Christmas Dinners. Care-leavers, who tend to be abandoned into the "community" with almost nothing, are treated in various places to a big Christmas dinner, with presents, lots of good food, and fun. Last year I sent a couple of quilts, and this year we have several on the go, these two being the first finishes.
Blocks made by the good hands of the International Quilt Day ladies, from a whole lot of nice fabric samples provided by Michael from  Oakshott Fabrics...
Assembled by the Helens, and quilted, with her usual great skill and style, by Mandy Parks

Today we put the bindings on, and here they are... We won't be sending them in till much nearer the time, as no-one has house room for all of these. If you would like to get involved, there is a Facebook Group here - you need to join and answer questions...

Delightful!
